The Struggle to Live Authentically
Captain (ret) Mark David Gibson was born & raised in Upstate New York and joined the Air Force as a ticket-out to find himself and see the world. Gibson is a 20 Year highly decorated war veteran having deployed multiple times to Southwest Asia in support of OPERATION Enduring Freedom (OEF) and OPERATION Noble Eagle (ONE). Mark earned a Bachelor and Master’s degree simultaneously while also earning a commission in the U.S. Air Force as an Officer (ROTC).
Mark, outside of the military, has worked for major corporations. He currently works for the U.S. Small Business Administration, where he was selected to co-author, design, develop and execute with the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, the Harvard Award winning, “LGBT Business Builder,” a National LGBT Economic Empowerment Outreach initiative. Business Builder promoted NGLCC business certification coupled with SBA programs and services to grow LGBT business across the Country.
In addition to having lived in Costa Rica, is an avid world traveler, and a gourmet cook, Mark is a tri-athlete, runner, and has a spirit of volunteerism. He is most passionate about living an authentic life to its fullest. He and partner Aaron (aka: Mr. Wonderful) split their time between Atlanta and Lake Oconnee or weekend getaways at their AirBnB in Savannah.
