Brief Bio

Fern has been published in magazines (trade and consumer), worked in advertising, publishing and special events. She’s also worked with non-profits, public relations agencies, and launched new products in the tech industry.

Additionally, she has worked as a business coach, conducted training and consulting around the world, and organized corporate (and non-profit) events (trade shows, conferences, galas, sports events, etc.) Fern has her BA in education and was just six credits shy of having her MS in special education.

A Q&A with the Publish Your Purpose Press Team

1. How did you come to work with PYP?

As a published writer of magazine articles and trade materials, I attended the Purpose Driven Writer’s Academy program to create my first book. My classmates at the Academy inspired me with their enthusiasm and knowledge and so I began to use my talents as a transcriptionist and writer to help other writers translate their thoughts and ideas, the passions in their heart, into words on paper. I enjoy helping people get “un-stuck.”

2. What do you enjoy the most about your work?

Learning new things from inspirational thought leaders as they write; helping people achieve their dream of writing/finishing a book; collaborative visioning where I add value to a project.

3. What are your favorite books or genre?

My favorite books are varied, always taking me away from present world into an alternate reality where I can escape from everything going on around me for just a bit. Essentially, I like books (and all media actually) that make me think, imagine, see things in a new way.

4. How do you spend your free time?

I enjoy travel and trying new cuisines. I listen to escapist books while walking, exercising, or driving on road trips. I recently became a pescaterian (vegetarian that eats fish occasionally) so I enjoy being in the kitchen and trying new recipes and then I invite friends over (strangers passing by if necessary!) to try my creations.

5. If you could have dinner with anyone, past or present, who would it be?

Oprah. I want to learn how she keeps it all together to accomplish all she does and still has time to read!

6. What is one thing very few people know about you?

I used to be incredibly shy. Classmates in school hardly knew my name.

7. How would you define your purpose?

My mission on earth, in this soul lifetime, is to be of service to others. A writing Trickle-Down theory if you will… If I can help a writer get their message and dreams out into the world, those thoughts might help others achieve miraculous things, which will impact still others. And so on.

Regardless of where you are searching on the Internet you are going to find major discrepancies in the price of services.
